Medical Provider Network (MPN)
Managing workers' compensation requires a specialized and focused approach to difficult and rapidly changing issues such as increased litigation and escalating medical costs. Effective January 1, 2005 the State of California in-acted SB899 as a measure to control these costs. A key component to this bill was designed to make the most significant impact on medical cost containment by introducing the Medical Provider Network (MPN). Oak River/Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies has contracted with the Blue Cross of California PPO Network for their MPN.
